I started at my local grassroots club Coventry United at 11 and then started to play Saturday football for Coventry sky blues in the JPL.
At this point I began going to a 1 on 1 coach and improving my technical ability. Once I got to u16 I started playing showcase football all the way in London. I would travel from Coventry to East/North/West or South London every Saturday to participate in games and tournaments.
From doing this I gained trials at AFC Wimbledon and Walsall FC and got invited to a couple training sessions at QPR. I was unsuccessful at all the trials and started working harder than usual. At u17 I played for u18 Coventry United floodlit, trying to gain exposure into the first team who are now step 5. That season I also attended a ProChance showcase game at Saint Georges Park.
I played well and gained interests that led eventually led nowhere. A year later I got a phone call from Liam Sutcliffe, the owner of ProChance. He told me to come train with his new formed programme who I then joined for my u18 season.
Now that I’m a second year scholar I knew my football had to be taken extremely serious if I wanted a shot. At ProChance I gained exposure by playing step 6 football against first teams with our young U18 side and also played numerous U18/U23 academies such as Crystal Palace, Huddersfield Town, MK Dons, Sheffield Wednesday and even against Port Vale’s first team, I was well coached I’ve got to admit, this is where I transformed as a player and felt I could be taken more serious as a player due to my ability. The season ended and I left because I felt there were a lack of results shown so I left for the better of my own career in my opinion. Now I’m a first year pro and I feel like if given another opportunity like a trial, the chance would be 100% grasped in this moment in time.
